Job summary

WVU Health System at Uniontown Hospital in Uniontown, PA seeks a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to collect blood specimens via venipuncture and capillary puncture, perform outpatient EKGs, and prepare specimens for testing in Cerner Lab System.

Responsibilities include specimen handling, processing, labeling, and delivering tests while providing clerical support. 40 hours weekly; non-exempt, with HIPAA and lab standards adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification or related training preferred.
• Six months phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process blood and other specimens per procedures.
• Perform outpatient EKGs and assist in lab operations.
• Monitor patients for reactions during venipuncture and ensure safety.
• Handle specimen labeling, documentation, and transport to destinations.
• Maintain logs and use Cerner Lab System for data entry and reports.
• Greet patients and provide clerical support in the lab.
