Job summary

Memorial Home Services in Springfield, IL seeks a phlebotomy technician and lab assistant to perform blood collection from patients of all ages and prepare specimens for testing. You will support CLIA-waived testing, patient care, and documentation under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma and phlebotomy training; CPR is required by week one; computer skills and prior phlebotomy experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy course preferred.
• CPR certification by end of first week required.
• Certification for breath alcohol testing/drug screening preferred.
• Previous computer experience required.
• Phlebotomy skills for all ages preferred.
• Must pass Listening Skills and Data Entry assessments.

Responsibilities

• Complies with federal guidelines and clinic policies; maintains documentation and HIPAA standards.
• Assists with diagnostic testing; prepares specimens, labels, and communicates results; may perform EKGs and related tasks.
• Maintains quality control and documentation of processes; adheres to manufacturer guidelines.
• Assists with ordering, care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Completes paperwork for specimen testing via computer entry.
• Participates in phlebotomy training and orientation of personnel.
• Supports quality and patient satisfaction goals with compassionate service.
• Performs other related work as required.
