Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to collect and process patient specimens under supervision. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, registering patients, labeling and transporting specimens, and maintaining a clean station to support both outpatient and inpatient needs.

The role requires a high school diploma with technical phlebotomy training; prior experience is preferred. Training on the laboratory information system will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required with basic phlebotomy training.
• Prior venipuncture and specimen labeling experience preferred.
• Ability to register patients and manage specimens in the lab system.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic venipunctures and capillary collections.
• Register patients and specimens in the laboratory system.
• Label specimens according to policy.
• Transport specimens to the lab.
• Maintain supplies and cleanliness of phlebotomy stations.
• Assist with outpatient and inpatient phlebotomy needs.
