Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Formal phlebotomy training or medical assistant training from an accredited program.
• Licensed by the State of Nevada as a Laboratory Assistant.
• POC analysis within 6 months of hire preferred.
• 6 months of work experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
• Recent graduate of an accredited phlebotomy-training program considered.
• Laboratory Information Systems knowledge preferred.
• Computer applications (word processing, spreadsheet) preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from inpatient and outpatient populations.
• Process specimens and manage send-outs.
• Answer telephone and relay laboratory results.
• Load specimens onto instrumentation and fax results per policy.
