Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network in New York is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect blood and other specimens, following policies. You will ensure accuracy of samples and assist with related tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy program with at least 100 hours.
• 1–2 years of secondary education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician orders and collects blood and other specimens using proper equipment.
• Performs outpatient EKGs, operates centrifuge, and ensures proper specimen transfer and storage.
• Communicates promptly with the outpatient lab scheduler, regional coordinators, and managers.
• Travel between sites for unscheduled absences or emergencies.
• Adheres to Network and departmental policies and procedures.
