Job summary

Interpath Laboratory is seeking a Phlebotomist/Processor to support patients and our team across Oregon. The role involves venipuncture, specimen handling, data entry, and ensuring specimen integrity with strict adherence to safety and HIPAA guidelines.

Ideal candidates will have a collaborating spirit, strong communication, and the ability to operate across multiple sites as needed. Day shift, Monday through Friday, with periodic Saturday coverage.

Qualifications

• Six months of on-the-job experience performing phlebotomy and/or specimen processing.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited phlebotomy program preferred.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license; ability to travel between sites if needed.
• Excellent communication and patient-facing skills; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Administrative duties: Providing excellent customer service, answering phones, and monitoring instrumentation alarms.
• Technical duties: Performing venipuncture, obtaining additional specimen types, and preparing samples for lab testing and screening.
• Data management: Verifying specimen information, data entry, and correct patient identification.
• Specimen handling: Receiving, processing, and packaging samples for referral labs while maintaining integrity.
• Compliance: Following safety protocols, HIPAA, Medicare rules, and participating in quality assurance.
• Flexibility: Covering shifts at different sites to ensure smooth operations.
