Job description

We’re seeking an experienced Phlebotomist/Processor with excellent interpersonal skills to join our team. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player committed to delivering outstanding patient care and supporting our collective goals. This position may require travel as needed for coverage.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, alternating shifts: 8:15AM – 5:15PM
• Monday–Friday, alternating shifts: 7:00AM – 5:00PM

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, answer phones, and monitor instrumentation alarms.
• Perform venipuncture for blood collection and obtain additional specimen types as required.
• Prepare all samples for lab testing and screening.
• Verify specimen information, perform data entry, and properly identify patient information.
• Receive, process, and package samples for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Follow safety protocols, HIPAA policies, Medicare rules, and participate in quality assurance.
• Cover work shifts at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance to support the team and patients.

Education & Certification

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

Must have at least 1 year of hands‑on phlebotomy experience. Pediatric phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Excellent communication skills; able to interact professionally with patients and team members.

Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.

Highly organized and capable of managing multiple responsibilities effectively.

Physical Requirements

• Laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.
• High level of staff interaction in close quarters; must hear alarms to respond to safety needs.
• Regular handling of potentially infectious samples, with required protective gear (lab coat, gloves, goggles, face shield).
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
• Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.

OSHA Category

This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues. Hepatitis‑B vaccination is offered to all performing these duties.
