Job summary

Interpath Laboratory, a family-owned clinical and anatomic pathology lab serving Oregon and surrounding regions, seeks a Phlebotomist/Processor with strong people skills to support patients and the team. Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, data entry, and upholding safety and HIPAA standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, six months phlebotomy/processing experience or completion of a program, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of on-the-job phlebotomy and specimen processing experience, or completion of an accredited phlebotomy program.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service, answer phones, and monitor instrumentation alarms.
• Perform venipuncture for blood collection and prepare samples for testing.
• Verify specimen information, data entry, and proper patient identification.
• Receive, process, and package specimens for referral labs while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Follow safety protocols, HIPAA, Medicare rules, and participate in QA.
• Cover shifts at different sites as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
