Job summary

Lima Memorial Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect and process blood samples and perform waived POC testing as needed. The role includes clerical duties, health fair participation, and helping train new staff.

On weekends, the schedule is every 3rd weekend with on-call requirements. Education required includes phlebotomy training and a high school diploma, with BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of approved Phlebotomy training is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process blood samples for the Clinical Laboratory.
• Perform waived point-of-care testing as needed.
• Handle clerical duties and other routine tasks.
• Represent the health system at health fairs as needed.
• Assist in training of new phlebotomists and students.
• Maintain CLIA-88 standards and participate in on-call duties.

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, policies and procedures, the Phlebotomist collects and processes blood samples for the Clinical Laboratory. Performs waived POC testing as needed Performs clerical duties and other routine duties as assigned. Works at health fairs, to meet the needs of the health system. Participates in training of new Phlebotomists and students. Maintains the standards set forth in CLIA-88. On-call duties as assigned.
Education: High School graduate or GED preferred. Completion of approved Phlebotomy training is required.
Licensure/Certification: BLS required
Experience: None required.
Skills: Must have excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
