Job summary

Talentify in Dowagiac, MI seeks a PRN Medical Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomy tech to collect and process blood specimens and perform clerical tasks. You will set up instruments, verify records, and handle ABN reviews within a busy clinical lab environment.

As-needed hours Mon-Fri 10:00–18:00 with rotating weekends, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control procedures. Prior lab and phlebotomy exposure preferred; HS diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of job-specific experience required.
• Licensure/certification can substitute education or experience where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Sets up instruments, maintains, cleans and sterilizes equipment and work area per safety protocols.
• Receives, centrifuges, accesses, processes and transports specimens; may draw or collect blood per policy.
• Orders add-on tests, manages pending lists and resolves duplicates.
• Performs clerical duties: phones, data entry, patient registration details, ABN reviews and filing.

Collects and processes blood specimens for testing and performs multiple clerical and processing functions.

Responsibilities

• Sets up instruments. Maintains, cleans, and sterilizes equipment and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
• Receives, centrifuges, accessions, processes and transports specimens. Verifies all related records. May draw and collect blood samples according to policy.
• Orders add-on tests, works pending lists, and resolves duplicate orders.
• Performs clerical duties which may include answering phones, reviewing EKGs, collecting patient demographic data for patient registration, ordering tests, reviewing Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN), data entry and filing.
