Montefiore’s Department of Pathology operates the most technologically advanced diagnostic systems, providing approximately 10.5 million tests per year. Our laboratories provide a wide range of testing services to patients.
The phlebotomist is responsible for performing and executing proper phlebotomy techniques in order to obtain patient blood samples via a needle stick. The individual is also responsible for reviewing laboratory requisitions and test orders for accuracy prior to performing phlebotomy. He/she ensures proper and accurate specimen labeling and records collection and receipt of specimens in the laboratory system. The phlebotomist is responsible for centrifuging and preparing specimens for pickup and adhering to proper infection control practices and HIPAA policies and procedures.
This position is located at the Moses campus in the Phlebotomy lab. The hours will be 3:00am - 6:00am Monday through Friday with alternate weekends.
