Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center – HCA is seeking a Phlebotomist to support the Laboratory department. The role includes assisting with technical and clerical tasks, managing specimen collection, and processing samples through LIS systems.

The candidate will perform venipuncture and capillary collections, handle pneumatic tube specimens, register samples, and assist with quality control and inventory management as part of a busy hospital lab.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in technical and clerical aspects of the Laboratory department.
• Manages collection, acceptance, receipt and processing of all specimens into Laboratory departments.
• Attend to samples received through pneumatic tube stations.
• Performs specimen collection (venipuncture, capillary puncture).
• Complete computerized registration of patient samples using LIS.
• Complete basic quality control steps and inventory management tasks.
