Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain and/or prepare specimens for analysis to support outpatient, inpatient, surgery, and emergency department patients.

You will work under the Phlebotomy Supervisor, using a wireless handheld computer to ensure patient safety and contribute to the hospital’s humankindness mission. A formal phlebotomy program completion and national certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect or receive samples of fluids or tissues and ensure quality/quantity for testing.
• Prepare samples using lab equipment and chemicals for testing.
• Perform tests, keep accurate records, and label/send specimens as needed.
