Quest Diagnostics in Cheshire, CT is hiring a Phlebotomist II for a Monday to Friday schedule 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with rotational weekends. This position offers hourly pay between $23.20 and $24.90 and provides comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, labeling, processing, and data entry, while ensuring accuracy and patient safety. Requirements include three years phlebotomy experience, high school diploma, and ability to work weekends.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends and holidays.
• Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license, if applicable.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and transport preparation.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, and email.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics submissions and maintain logs.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner (maintenance and temperature logs).
• Complete training courses timely.
