Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking a per diem phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for laboratory testing, transfusions, donations, and research at our onsite facility in Dover, NH. You will explain procedures to patients and provide support during recovery from adverse reactions.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 0–1 year of experience, with strong patient communication and meticulous data entry into LIS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for laboratory testing, transfusions, donations, and research.
  • Explain blood collection procedures to patients and provide support during recovery from adverse reactions.
  • Collect blood specimens using various venipuncture techniques and equipment.
  • Dispose of contaminated sharps and biohazardous materials in accordance with laws and policies.
  • Enter patient and specimen data accurately into the computer systems.
