Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood specimens and support laboratory testing. You will obtain quality samples across age groups, verify patient identity, label and transport specimens, and collaborate with care teams to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Training will be provided to new staff and students as assigned. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a National Certification in Phlebotomy is preferred, with a valid

  • Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Licenses: Phlebotomy Technician (National Certification) -HR Preferred.
  • Driver's License (State) - HR Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain quality blood samples using phlebotomy methods for all ages.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification, proper labeling, handling and transport of specimens.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve specimen, order and operational issues.
  • Provide training and education to new staff and students as assigned.
  • Handle sharps and biohazardous materials per regulations and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and care teams to ensure satisfaction.
