Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH is hiring for a phlebotomist. The role pays $20.25-$31.09 per hour, with pay based on experience and a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Shifts are 4-8 hours nights Monday–Friday, with every 3rd weekend rotation.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens via venipuncture and dermal puncture, entering patient and billing data, and maintaining strict HIPAA/compliance standards. Highest priority is accurate specimen collection and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

Job Summary

Salary range: $20.25 -$31.09- Pay is based on experience.

$3,000 Sign on Bonus!

4-8hrs nights M-F with every 3rd weekend rotation.

Essential Functions
  • Dispose of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
  • Draw blood from veins by vacuum tube, syringe, or butterfly venipuncture methods.
  • Dispose of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.
  • Draw blood from capillaries by dermal puncture, such as heel or finger stick methods.
  • Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer.

  • Knowledge of various techniques in collecting specimens.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and OSHA Regularities and an ability to maintain absolute discretion over highly sensitive patient information.
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Demonstrates proficiency of proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens.
  • Superior customer service skills, clear communications skills, and ability to show empathy and respect for patients' privacy and autonomy.
  • Knowledge and practice of proper aseptic techniques necessary to prevent injury to self and patients.
