The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, CPR-BLS certification, and phlebotomy training experience. Strong communication and organization skills are essential for patient care and coordination across sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• CPR-BLS certification required from the AHA.
• ASCP PBT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special phlebotomy procedures as directed by supervisor/manager/director.
• Enter tests into Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and document receipt of specimens.
• Collect patient specimens appropriate for age and population served.
• Ensure correct tube type and sufficient blood volume for tests.
