Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Erwin, TN seeks a Phlebotomist II to collect specimens (including drug screens and biometric tests), verify orders, and enter data in our lab information systems with accuracy. The role requires three years of phlebotomy experience, strong data entry skills, and flexible availability (weekends/holidays/on-call).

Work schedule is Monday to Thursday, 8:00 to 5:00 with a 60 minute lunch, and Friday 8:00 to 12:00.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify test orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer and accurately enter data.
• Enter billing information and collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and transport preparation.
• Perform non-patient duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and email use.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
