Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Rockford, IL is seeking a Phlebotomist II to collect specimens with care and professionalism while delivering excellent patient service. You will perform vein and capillary collections, ensure accurate labeling and timely processing, and support testing workflows in a fast-paced health lab environment.

Responsibilities include data entry, order verification, and maintaining logs. The role requires three years of phlebotomy experience and flexibility for weekends or overtime;

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry proficiency with accuracy.
• Willing to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screening.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify orders using lab systems and client contact to ensure accuracy.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Obtain and enter billing information, collect payments per policies.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient-facing duties: inventory, sanitation, filing, phones, emails.
• Keep departmental policies and procedures in compliance.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance records on schedule.
• Complete online and in-person training timely.
