Job summary

Actalent, based in Shenandoah, TX, is seeking a Phlebotomist II to perform high-volume blood draws and specimen processing. You will label, store, and document samples, while explaining procedures to patients to ease anxiety and ensure understanding.

You will maintain strict compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations, verify orders, and handle specimens through processing steps. Some travel between PSC and IOP sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Venipuncture experience in fast-paced settings.
• Blood draw proficiency with safety and accuracy.
• Knowledge of specimen handling and labeling.
• Familiarity with OSHA/DEP safety guidelines.
• Proficiency with basic office software for records.

Responsibilities

• Perform 20+ blood draws per day using venipuncture techniques.
• Collect, label, and store specimens per procedures.
• Explain procedures clearly to reduce patient anxiety.
• Verify requisitions and match labels to tubes for accuracy.
• Process specimens via centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required.
• Maintain patient data in systems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Travel between PSC and IOP locations as needed.
