Actalent in Houston, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist I for a 13-week contract to join a leading healthcare laboratory team. You will perform venipuncture, collect and label specimens, and support processing and testing in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include ensuring accuracy of patient data, maintaining records, and providing clear explanations to patients while adhering to safety and compliance standards. The role is onsite in Houston with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.
• Experience performing 30+ blood draws per day.
• Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
• Experience with specimen labeling, centrifuging, and processing.
• Comfortable working with pediatric and geriatric patients.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws using venipuncture, straight needles, and butterfly needles.
• Collect, label, and process blood and other specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing, storage, and transportation.
• Verify patient information and ensure specimen accuracy.
• Enter patient information and maintain accurate records.
• Provide excellent customer service and explain procedures clearly to patients.
• Follow OSHA, safety, and laboratory compliance standards.
