Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II in San Antonio, TX. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with rotating weekends. $20.00+ per hour, with potential annual bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.

The role requires three years of phlebotomy experience, strong data entry skills, and a valid driver’s license. Education includes a high school diploma; medical training and phlebotomy certification are preferred. English communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience required.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions per training.
• Verify orders using lab technology systems and client communication.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Follow departmental policies and maintain logs.
• Assist with statistics and data submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and training courses.
