Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Flint, MI is seeking a Phlebotomist II to join our team in a Monday to Thursday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with rotational Saturdays. The role includes collecting specimens, processing, data entry and adherence to privacy and safety policies.

The successful candidate will have at least three years of phlebotomy experience, strong customer service, and flexibility to work weekends and overtime. High school diploma or equivalent and phlebotomy certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric and capillary draws.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Review test orders and verify with lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and email.
• Read, understand and comply with policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in-person training timely.
