Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II Float in Birmingham, AL. You will perform venipuncture and specimen collection across various patient service centers, doctor’s offices, and mobile sites, with travel as needed. Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in a dynamic float role.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomist duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor’s office, or as business needs dictate.
• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures including drug screens, biometric screenings and insurance exams.
• Enter billing information and collect payment when required.
• Coach, mentor, instruct, and be a resource advisor for new employees; act as on-site staff liaison.
• Travel to additional doctor’s offices or Patient Service Center sites as needed.
