Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Black Mountain, NC is hiring a Phlebotomist II to collect specimens and ensure accurate test data flow. Workweek is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with competitive hourly pay and potential annual bonus opportunities.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, data entry, order verification, and maintaining logs. Requires a minimum of three years phlebotomy experience and relevant medical training. English communication required.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens per procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions as trained.
• Verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing info and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs.
• Complete training courses timely.
