Qualifications

  • Willingness to work weekends/holidays/on-call.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for patients of all ages.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during collection.
  • Accurately label specimens and complete requisitions.
  • Adhere to procedures for waived testing and accurate results.
  • Handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
  • Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed.
  • Apply electrodes and monitor patients to ensure quality tracings.
  • Prepare and verify manifests for specimens sent to labs.

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Wilmington, NC, US, 28401. This is around 3+ month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Wilmington, NC, US, 28401
Pay Rate: $19 - $21.35/hr. on W2.
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm

*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
  • Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms.
  • Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results
  • Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity.
  • Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings.
  • Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
  • Must demonstrate Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
  • Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard/data entry experience.Additional
  • Candidate will have to float from the quest-based location to a certain location the client wants.
