GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs phlebotomy and routine duties in the clinical laboratory, assisting Medical Technologists. Verifies doctor’s requests, types and registers specimens, and delivers specimens to the appropriate department. May have specific job assignments.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of college preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year laboratory experience preferred.
• Technical training in college or a medically related program preferred.
• Effective communication skills required.
• Knowledge of routine tests procedures required.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients.
• Physical ability to work with chemicals, reagents, and materials safely.
