Qualifications

  • CPR-BLS certification required; PBT (ASCP) certification preferred.
  • Experience in phlebotomy training strongly preferred.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $19.31 - $28.00. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:
  • Position: Phlebotomist II
  • Location: Patient Service Centers; Cook County, IL Locations
  • Full Time / Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Required Travel: Yes
What you will do:
  • Perform routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by Supervisor/Manager/Director.
  • Order tests into the Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and document receipt of specimens.
  • Collect patient specimens according to test requirements, appropriate for the patient's age and population.
  • Collect blood samples ensuring adequate volume and correct tubes are used.
What you will need:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Certification: CPR-BLS certification for Healthcare Providers required; PBT (ASCP) certification preferred.
  • Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills, reliable transportation, and strong customer service skills.
