Hourly Pay Range: $19.31 - $28.00. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
- Position: Phlebotomist II
- Location: Northwest Community Hospital
- Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 5am-1:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays
What you will do:
- Proficiently perform accurate venipuncture and capillary specimen collection for all inpatients and outpatients of all age groups.
- May be responsible for collecting body fluids or other samples including nasal and throat swabs, and breath samples.
- Operate and utilize the H.I.S and L.I.S. systems and other available resources to meet lab service needs.
- Prepare and assist in processing blood and body fluid samples per established guidelines.
- Assist in the orientation and training of phlebotomy staff and students.
- Apply skills and experience to identify and address problems as they arise, notifying lead/supervisory personnel as needed.
- Assist with inventory management duties as assigned.
- Ensure all customer requests for laboratory services are addressed promptly and appropriately.
- Provide phone coverage and maintain professional appearance and behavior, ensuring a customer-oriented approach in line with the hospital's mission.
What you will need:
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required; CPR-BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required within 90 days (provided by Endeavor Health).
- Experience: At least one year of phlebotomy experience required.
- Preferred Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills, strong customer service skills.
