Summary
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents our company to patients, whether as part of their routine health visits or for important health decisions.
- The PSR II draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and follows established procedures.
- Engages directly with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures, and drawing blood safely and accurately.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Assignments may vary between a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
- Under supervision, performs daily activities accurately and timely.
- Maintains a safe and professional environment.
- Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices.
- Verifies patient demographic information, including initials and signatures, ensuring tubes are labeled correctly and in the patient's presence.
- Maintains required records and documentation.
- Promotes a positive image and demonstrates organizational commitment to patients, clients, and the public.

- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Adherence to all policies and procedures, including dress code and safety standards.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Strong customer focus, open communication, and adaptability to change.
- Training locations may vary based on availability.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
- At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum of two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard data entry experience required.
