Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Phlebotomist I for the Superior Clinic in Superior, CO. The role involves accurate specimen collection for diagnostic testing, using venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swabs while maintaining patient engagement and safety standards.

Experienced caregivers will work a full-time schedule, 40 hours weekly, with a 7:30am-4:00pm shift, and participate in on-call and holiday rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Preferred.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager/supervisor. Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomist I collects patient specimens for diagnostic testing in a professional medical environment.
• Performs venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections across patient types and acuities.
• Adheres to PPE, safety regulations, and laboratory compliance in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Communicates procedures and instructions with patients and families, showing empathy in every interaction.
• Assists with patient registration, CODE response teams, training and mentoring new staff, specimen processing, and special projects.
