Job summary

Tower Health’s Phoenixville Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy, point of care testing across multiple platforms, and EKG tracings. The role requires accurate patient identification and collaboration with registration and lab systems to ensure timely, correct specimen collection.

Responsibilities include operating hospital information systems, coordinating collections, and performing procedures with attention to acceptability limits and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Completion of required competencies and trainings for phlebotomy.
• Post-high-school diploma program or equivalent experience may be accepted.
• Certification in basic life support is preferred or required.

Responsibilities

Work Schedule: Full Time Day with weekend and holiday rotation required.
A Phlebotomist is responsible for performing phlebotomy, point of care testing on multiple platforms and EKG tracings. In addition, incumbents are expected to correctly identify patients, handle patient registration, maintain a working knowledge of both the laboratory and hospital information systems and tools, provide dispatching or coordinating of collections and perform procedures in a standardized, accurate manner with knowledge of the parameters of acceptability and critical limits.. Phlebotomists are expected to perform other duties as required or assigned.
