Job summary

Citizens Health is seeking a phlebotomist to join our hospital and clinic laboratories in Colby, Kansas. The role supports the technical staff in basic lab procedures and specimen procurement, with phlebotomy certification preferred but training available.

The position reports to the lab manager and requires a flexible schedule as the lab is open at all times; pay is dependent upon experience. We value compassionate, evidence-based care and a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Prefer phlebotomy certification, but will train the right individual.
• Prefer CPSI experience.
• Prefer Quest Diagnostics interface experience.
• Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports and responding to correspondence.
• Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Basic laboratory procedures under the direct supervision of assigned laboratory personnel.
• Basic office procedures.
