Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a phlebotomist.
As a Phlebotomist at MercyOne, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients of all age groups in a timely and accurate manner using appropriate venous, arterial, or capillary techniques. All specimens are collected strictly following all related policies and procedures. As the face of the laboratory, phlebotomists must maintain professional behavior and technical skills, demonstrating well-developed customer service skills.
Schedule: Full Time Nights
General Requirements:- No previous experience or training required.
- Performs duties consistent with the purpose of the job as directed.
- Prioritizes and organizes the collection of blood and other diagnostic specimens based on testing criteria with minimal supervision.
- Accurately identifies patients prior to collection using two patient identifiers, labels, and accessions specimens according to policy, and records data neatly and accurately.
- Collects blood and other diagnostic specimens based on orders received, following established protocols.
Education:- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a certified phlebotomy course is preferred but not required.
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
