Mercy Hospital Southeast is seeking a Lab Support Technician I to join the provider care team. The role supports reports, data, and scheduling in the laboratory, delivering accurate, timely laboratory support while upholding Mercy service standards.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, processing, transport, and referral of laboratory specimens and reports, with strong emphasis on customer service and HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or enrollment in a healthcare career program.
• Successful completion of probationary period; no active disciplinary actions.
• Preferred: college-level Chemistry, Biology or other science courses.
• Preferred: previous experience in a clinical laboratory.

Responsabilités

• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support and excellent customer service.
• Skillfully acquire laboratory specimens using safe, accurate, and professional methods.
• Process, transport and refer all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required.
• Support reports, data and scheduling functions within the laboratory.

This position is responsible for providing accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support. The LST I will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service with all internal and external customer interactions. The LST I is responsible as required for the skillful acquisition of laboratory specimens for testing, utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. The LST I will be responsible for all processing, transport and referral of all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required. In order for the co-worker to achieve the competencies of the LST I position they must be observed by laboratory management or designee and complete all departmental checklists for the LST I position. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
