Job summary

Sunrise Medical Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to support our patient service centers across Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester and lower Connecticut.

In this full-time role you will obtain blood specimens and other samples, verify requisitions, follow safety guidelines, and ensure the Patient Service Center remains clean and welcoming.

The position offers a 40-hour work week, travel between sites, and a pay rate of $23.50–$25.00 per hour with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification required.
• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
• Willingness to travel to multiple Sunrise locations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens (urine, sputum, throat swabs) for testing.
• Verify test requisitions and computer labels for accuracy.
• Follow safety, infection control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines.
• Process specimens for laboratory testing.
• Maintain clean, presentable Patient Service Centers.

Location: Float Phlebotomist Covering Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester and lower Connecticut
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 7:30am - 4:00pm; Monday to Friday and 7:30am - 1:00pm; Saturday and (Day Off TDB)

Full-time: Benefits Eligible

Hourly Rate: $23.50hr - $25.00/hr

In this role you will:

• Obtain blood specimens and collect non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing
• Check the test requisition or computer label to assure correctness and completeness prior to collecting sample
• Follow all safety, infection control, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen guidelines
• Process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing
• Ensure the Patient Service Center is clean, tidy and presentable

All you need is:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Phlebotomy certification
• At least 6 months experience, required
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple Sunrise locations
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
