Job description

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Chevy Chase, MD and surrounding areas.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 7:00am – 7:00pm (hours vary); Saturdays as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Complete administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification, completed training program, or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency may satisfy work experience requirements
• Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Willingness to travel to additional sites
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Minimum age of 21 years

Pay Range and Incentives

• Sign on bonus: $1500.00 (external applicants only)
• Pay Range: $17.75 - $26.00 per hour
• Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Benefits

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees scheduled for fewer than 20 hours per week, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible for all benefits except PTO or FTO.
