Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Hyattsville and surrounding areas.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am – 6:30pm (hours vary); every other Saturday 7:00am – 11:00am.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience
Additional Job Standards
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency may meet requirements
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Travel to additional sites
  • Valid Driver’s license with clean driving record with reliable transportation
  • Be at least 21 years’ of age
Benefits

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.

Sign on Bonus $1500.00 (external applicants only)
Pay Range: $17.75 - $26.00 per hour
Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement.
