Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; and 6 months to 2 years related experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees; bilingual ability may be required based on service location.
• Certification required by the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support (BLS) for adults, children and infants; certification will be provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures and collects other specimens; explains proper collection procedures and clarifies orders.
• Registers patients; requisitions lab orders and verifies billing information.
• Processes, stores, and transports specimens according to laboratory requirements.
• Maintains an orderly work area and inventories supplies; supports team members and customers.
• Provides on-call and mobile service as required and travels to sites within 25 miles as needed for coverage.
