Job summary

Top Echelon LLC in Ocala, FL is seeking a contract Phlebotomist to perform blood draws, labeling, specimen handling and related duties in a fast-paced lab setting. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm, with an initial duration of 3 months and potential for permanent placement.

Requires valid phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months venipuncture experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; benefits are available.

Qualifications

Valid Phlebotomy certification as required in the state.
Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Implied requirement of at least 2 years of experience in related duties.

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Properly explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
Full understanding of physicians' orders and matching requisitions to specimens.
Package specimens for transport and ensure proper labeling and storage.
