Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in Ocala, FL. The role involves clinical specimen collection, labeling, and processing to maintain workflow in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, and communications with patients and physicians to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. On-site, full-time schedule with benefits available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Minimum 2 years of overall work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, and record maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens according to procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process to patients clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate proper technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Follow physicians\' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Ensure accurate labeling, centrifugation, and specimen handling as required by orders.
• Package specimens for transport meeting temperature and container protocols.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual training.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results as needed.
