Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist/EKG Technician to perform venipunctures, label and prepare specimens, and execute electrocardiograms. The role includes patient interaction, routing specimens for analysis, and basic LIS data entry. Training of new staff is part of the duties.

The position supports a busy Laboratory Support Services team with opportunities to participate in ongoing procedures and adherence to infection control policies.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BMVL license required (must maintain eligibility to drive).
• Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Identifies themselves and department and explains the procedure to the patient.
• Verifies patient identification; performs phlebotomies and fingersticks.
• Labels, dates and processes specimens; transports to the appropriate work center.
• Centrifuges specimens and distributes to work stations.
• Performs and processes electrocardiograms.
• Participates in training and orientation of new employees and students.
• Cleans and stocks work area; performs clerical and computer functions as needed.
• Orders tests and records receipt in LIS.
• Registers patient in LIS, orders testing, and handles special instructions.
• Distributes specimens to appropriate department and manages add-on testing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
