Donor Collections Technician

Location: South Mobile Blood Drive Team - Kent & Sussex County, DE & Maryland Eastern Shore

No medical experience needed. We train individuals who are welcoming and committed to providing excellent customer service to donors.

Job Summary

Travel to various mobile blood drive locations on a varied schedule, deliver excellent customer service, perform whole blood collection under BBD guidelines, and support emergency operations.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly differential: +$1.50/hr on weekends
• Hourly differential: +$1.00/hr on mobile blood drives
• Monthly performance bonuses

Schedule

• Mornings, evenings, and weekend shifts required, schedule released two weeks in advance.

Training

6–8 weeks paid training, including 3–4 weeks of classroom instruction at Christiana Donor Center/HQ in Newark, DE.

Responsibilities

• Conduct donor interviews confidentially to determine donor eligibility per BBD standards.
• Initiate whole blood collection and monitor donor progress according to BBD guidelines.
• Prepare interview and collection materials, ensuring equipment and supplies meet quality control standards.
• Exemplify BBD’s customer service mission and core values.
• Perform essential duties during severe weather or emergency operations.

Qualifications

• Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Minimum two years of face‑to‑face customer service experience.
• Minimum one year of experience managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Acceptance to work odd hours (morning, evening, weekend).
