Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to join our team in Tucson, AZ. You will assist with all steps of the blood collection process at fixed sites, ensuring a welcoming donor experience and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided to grow your healthcare skills within the nation’s top humanitarian organization. Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience is a plus, with competitive benefits and a mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum of one year customer service experience in a public setting.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights and stand for long periods; schedule changes are common.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take time to connect with donors, listen to stories and explain impact of donations.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors to return.
• Maintain accuracy and safety in blood collection, meeting regulatory requirements and transfusion safety standards.
