Job summary

The American Red Cross in Timonium, MD is seeking a phlebotomist to join a team responsible for collecting lifesaving blood donations at fixed site locations. Paid phlebotomy training is provided; no prior medical experience is required, with phlebotomy experience preferred.

You will work to create a welcoming donor experience, ensure safety procedures are followed, and support a mission-driven environment within the nation’s top humanitarian organization.

Qualifications

• Associates degree OR a combination of education and work experience is required.
• Minimum of one year customer service experience in public setting is required.
• Basic computer skills are required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors — listen to their stories and help them understand how impactful their donation is.
• Collaborate with your teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so our volunteer donors feel comfortable coming back again and again.
• Be detailed oriented all day, every day to ensure the blood you collect meets goals, regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
