Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, Inc. in Palatka, FL seeks a Phlebotomist to perform donor phlebotomy, collect blood using automated instruments after training, and register donors in the IBBIS system.

You will determine donor eligibility and ensure accurate donor identification throughout the process. The role requires high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work a varied schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Proficient in a variety of computer software applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors according to SOP.
• Collect blood using automated instruments (once trained).
• Register donors for blood collection in the LifeSouth system (IBBIS).
• Determine donor eligibility based on donor interview and physical process.
• Accurately identify donors in every step of donation process.
• Assist in recruitment, tele-recruitment and rescheduling of donors.
• Convert donors to automated technology (apheresis) when appropriate.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
