The University of Cincinnati – Hoxworth Blood Center is hiring Phlebotomists/Donor Care Technicians (Donor Services) to screen donors, take vital signs, perform venipuncture, and provide post-donation care. Entry and Advanced levels available with emphasis on patient education, accuracy, and customer service.

Positions offer opportunities for career advancement, mentorship, and continued education; shifts vary by location and include a shift differential.

Competenze

• Six (6) months of customer service experience (Entry Level)
• One (1) year of relevant work experience including recent phlebotomy/blood collections (Advanced Level)

Mansioni

• Guide donors through the process and provide education throughout the experience
• Obtain and update registration information prior to donation
• Determine donor suitability based on health history and findings
• Perform documentation to meet regulatory procedures and guidelines
• Perform phlebotomy for whole blood collections and record results
• Recognize and manage adverse donor reactions
• Maintain a satisfactory phlebotomy rate as defined by the division
• Other duties as needed by department
