Bloodworks is seeking an Associate Blood Collection Specialist (Phlebotomist) to perform whole-blood procedures for donors and ensure donor safety and quality standards in the Seattle area.

The role includes 8 weeks of paid on-the-job training with advancement opportunities to higher Blood Collection levels, requiring a HS diploma and a valid driver’s license. Join a community nonprofit focused on a safe blood supply and donor experience.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED equivalent required.
• One year of strong customer service work experience.
• Ability to travel within a 50-mile radius.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to attend an 8-week training program.
• Washington State Health Care Assistant Certification (category A at a minimum) requirements.

Responsibilities

• Screen potential donors and evaluate eligibility.
• Explain informed consent and blood testing to donors.
• Label blood components and prepare shipments.
• Perform whole blood collection procedures on donors.
• Monitor donors and manage adverse reactions.
• Follow universal precautions and FDA standards.
• Document quality controls and maintain safety of the blood supply.
• Interact professionally with donors and team.
