Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist for day shifts to collect blood samples accurately in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will ensure patient identification, sample integrity, proper labeling, and compassionate service in line with HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities include assisting in lab operations, training new staff, and maintaining professional communication with patients and clinical teams while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; certification in phlebotomy training or on-the-job training program or one year experience as a phlebotomist in CLIA regulated and accredited laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency of phlebotomy skills including venipuncture and special collections.
• Greets, identifies, and interacts with patients courteously and confidentially.
• Responds to patients with empathy and interpersonal skills while considering their needs.
• Maintains communication with department leadership and staff at all levels.
• Observe safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines throughout the phlebotomy process.
• Handwriting is legible.
